Ruth Roman, born in Lynn Massachusetts to Lithuanian-Jewish Mary Pauline Gold and Abraham Roman is the third daughter in their family. When she was young the carnival barker father died and left her mother no option but to become a cleaner lady and waitress in order to provide for the family. Ruth lived in the tenement area of poverty of Boston, Massachusetts, where she was educated. Her school was closed in two years, to go into acting. The path she chose did not come without challenges.
